COMMITTED TO: OHIO UNIVERSITY
Through my work, I look to cope with traumatic life memories I have experienced with my father. The process in which my pieces grow and expand echoes the haziness and distortion I associate with the memories I'm visualizing. At times, I question the accuracy of my distorted memories - are they real, or am I seeing them through a veil? I actively seek a greater sense of control and, ultimately, closure through the completion of each artwork, with the ultimate goal of answering the question: why does the idea of becoming my father still haunt me to this day?
