While my initial inquiry was mostly centered around aesthetics of video games and pixel art, my sustained investigation grew to eventually ask the question: How can I use contemporary applications of pixel-derived video games that I enjoy, such as Celeste, to inspire an idea for my own story that balances playfulness with serious content, all while exploring concepts of human damage to the environment and animals?
