How can I use photography to convey the impact of industrialization in urban and rural areas? How can I show what a world with less pollution would look like by focusing some pictures on areas untouched by pollution and industrialization? How can I use photography to connect and relate the different effects that industrialization has had on the planet?
I researched the effects of pollution and climate change on different areas, especially in North America. Additionally, I researched solutions for how we as a society are working on fixing the issue of climate change and the steps we are taking to prevent it. I took pictures of places or things that highlighted how humans have impacted the environment and how unpolluted areas like national parks and woodlands stand as an example of what an unpolluted earth might look like. I also edited certain pictures to make the colors more saturated to put emphasis on color and healthy plant life. In other photos, I muted the colors to make areas look more gray or polluted.
